In another War of words continues public rebuke the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) took strong exception to the recent remarks by PTI Chairman Imran Khan regarding the appointment of the new army chief, saying that it was aghast at the defamatory and uncalled for statement about the institution’s senior leadership. ISPR added that regrettably, an attempt has been made to discredit and undermine the senior leadership of Pakistan Army at a time when the institution is laying down lives for the security and safety of the people of Pakistan every day. The development came a day after Imran Khan alleged that the PPP and PMLN were opposing fresh elections because they wanted to appoint an army chief of their choice in November to save their skin in corruption cases. This development is latest in the series of ISPR rebukes delivered after Imran Khan openly tried castigating the military leadership though nothing came out of them as the verbal war continued unabated. The so-called red line was repeatedly crossed but the proverbial axe did not fall encouraging the repetition of such utterances. It certainly is a cause of worry witnessing aggressive posture taken against the defence forces that does not augur well TW.
