The unexpected death of televangelist Aamir Liaqat Hussain lived life on a fast track like most trendsetters do. Like all trendsetters, he faced disappointments that tore his soul apart finally ending his life at the young age of 49. He hit the TV screen running and soon became immensely popular due to his religious sermonizing widely watched by growing audiences. By nature a maverick, he changed track and hosted an immensely popular programme celebrating the month of Ramzan that was emulated by most TV channels. He yet again changed his course by hosting quiz shows giving away cars, motorbikes and electronic goods. During his hectic life he found time for politics and remained an MQM MNA and served as minister of religious affairs. He quit MQM and joined PTI though retained his independent streak and bluntly expressed that he was pushed to participate to vote in support of the previous regime. His personal life also proved to be extremely messy, particularly when his third marriage to an 18-year old ended up publicly amidst acrimony that appeared to have badly damaged him emotionally as he publicly stated that he wants to permanently leave Pakistan. Aamir Liaqat Hussain also became controversial due to some imprudent stances he took and unwise things he said. RIP TW
