Persistent denials of ISPR

Oddly enough the ISPR has consistently contested the claims made by the PTI about the conspiracy hatched by America to remove it from the government. The latest such denial provided an opportunity to PTI leaders Asad Umar and Shireen Mazari to comment that the remarks were akin to wading into political matters and were more an opinion than a fact. These remarks prompted the DG ISPR to shun the impression that his remarks were of political nature emphasising that they were just to clear the air. The repeated rebuttals undertaken by the ISPR have kept the PTI in news along with keeping its issue alive conveying the impression that it has caused serious concerns within the establishment about the stance taken by PTI. Moreover, it places PTI at par with the establishment and more than indicates that the real issue of the party and its leadership is actually not with the coalition government but its onus lies somewhere else. It also hints that there is certainly much more to the matter than meets the eye and that attempts are being made to hide it. This is an unhealthy impression that needs to be curbed and the best way to do it is to ignore it and let it steam out. TW
