The Much, much below the belt & current socio-political scenario is replete with instances of extremely rude behavior exhibited openly in the name of the inherent right to protest. A clip became viral of a woman protestor engaged in heaping a barrage of abuse at a patient police functionary during the recently held Azadi march in Islamabad. This woman was reported to be an overseas Pakistani as her accent betrayed it and was seen latching on to the policeman who, much to his credit, did not retaliate. Interestingly she was also recording the event for quite obvious reasons. Along with that came another video depicting a diehard PTI activist Sahibzada Jahangir popularly known as Chiku, who after ‘successfully’ completing his despicable task of abusing Pakistani politicians in Medina was found harassing and intimidating the personnel of Pakistani High Commission in London. It was clearly visible that Chiku was deliberately engaged in this activity that was duly recorded conveying the impression that it was also for public consumption. Unfortunately, such activity that was looked down upon a few years before, is now taken as a mark of respectable and desirable protest weapon resorted to indiscriminately and has become the new normal.
