Miftah regrets his war of attrition

No end is in sight for the feud between the former and incumbent finance ministers of the coalition government. In a recent flare-up Miftah regrets his war of attrition unleashed a broadside belittling the incumbent financial czar Ishaq Dar by mentioning that he (Dar) wanted to become a minister and that eventually his desire was fulfilled because he is the father-in-law of Nawaz Sharif’s daughter and he used to stay with him in London. Miftah bitterly blamed Dar for orchestrating a campaign to undermine him adding that Dar used to ask famous anchorpersons to tweet against him along with using anchors to do programmes against me. He also stated that Dar managed to give the impression that he would bring down the dollar rate as well as the price of oil if he took charge but to no avail. However, Miftah’s change of heart came equally quickly when he tweeted his regret over choice of words clarifying that his comments were given a spin by the media though there was clearly nothing to spin about as his remarks were unequivocal. Interestingly Miftah thanked Fawad Hasan Fawad and former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi for pointing out his mistake and also posted a clip from the same podcast. TW
