Though the former Ill-advised trip Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family consistently show great concern for the roiling political instability in the country yet they found it convenient to gleefully embark upon a pleasure trip to Europe and that too, amidst record-breaking inflationary trends witnessed at the continent. It is indeed surprising to notice that neither the former PM himself care about nor anyone in his large set of advisers advised him to desist from pulling a disappearing act amidst crucial circumstances faced by his ruling party beset by economic problems in Pakistan. Even if he completely ignored the negative fall-out of his misplaced sojourn or if he does not care, on both counts the insensitivity of this action cannot be condoned. This pleasure trip becomes untenable when viewed in the backdrop of murderous inflation confronting the people of Pakistan who are also suffering the horrid consequences of widespread flooding. The ill-timed pleasure trip has strengthened the already prevailing public impression that the former PM belongs to the same stock of people that consider itself insulated by their wealth and that all his promises to improve the lot of the downtrodden is nothing but hot air.
