A feat of female Pakistani climber is having a field day as they are climbing mountain after mountain. The most encouraging aspect is that female climbers are participating in this rigorous activity along with their male counterparts and are creating records that are greatly admired. Mountaineer Naila Kiani became the first Pakistani woman to climb the 8,091-metre tall Annapurna peak rated as the world’s tenth-highest peak situated in Nepal. She was accompanied by climber Shehroze Kashif, who has attained the title of being the youngest Pakistani mountaineer to ascend the peak. Naila Kiani is the first Pakistani woman climber to summit four peaks over 8,000 meters. Feat of female Pakistani climber is a Dubai-based Pakistani banker, an amateur boxer and a mother of two daughters and had first gained prominence after images of her wedding shoot at K2 Basecamp circulated on social media in 2018. She has also climbed Gasherbrum-II at 8,035 meters in 2021 and ascended Gasherbrum-I at 8,068 meter and K2 in July 2022. Naila Kiani had also climbed the world’s second tallest peak K2 shortly after Samina Baig who was the first Pakistani woman to do so. She was accompanied by 17-years old Kashif, the youngest climber to do so. TW
