Fatima Bhutto, 40, daughter of late Murtaza Bhutto, is an ace writer and an articulate speaker well-known in international speaking circuit. Contrary to her family’s fetish for politics she refrained from taking a plunge though she did dabble in it remaining mostly on the periphery. She opted for a low-profile marriage at her grandfather’s sprawling residence. Her husband is hardly known in Pakistan and though brought up as a Christian has embraced Islam adopting the name Gibran. 41-year old groom is reportedly American national but other details about him are rather sketchy. The wedding ceremony was kept intimate though it was reported that her nikah took place in her grandfather’s library hinting at her intellectual predilections. Fatima Bhutto has written several books including a memoir titled ‘Songs of Blood and Sword’ that narrates the story of her family’s turbulent political history. She is an international celebrity and was once photographed driving along with mostly hyped Hollywood actor George Clooney though the relationship was reported to be casual in nature as he later married Amal Clooney.
