Dha Karachi Dug Up – Life has been turned upside down in DHA Karachi that has all been dug up making way for a massive storm-water drain project but is looked with grave doubts by the residents who suspect that with rains just around the corner the project would turn out a massive failure. DHA authorities are vastly reviled for their lack of imagination while planning for measures aimed at improving the living conditions and the reason cited for it is the arbitrary nature of decision making emanating from the top that also suffers from frequency of change jeopardising any development initiative. It is more than obvious that even due care is not taken to warn people of the dug-out roads and if one is not careful while stepping out disaster may befall. At the beginning of a dug-up street a small board mentioning caution hangs on one of the electricity poles, barely visible to anyone driving by. Most residents point out that the way the roads are dug-out is nothing less than lethal with the added hazard of delays as is clearly evident by the fact that the project would be completed by Eid time but it did not happen and it is likely that it may well take a very long time to complete.
