In quite a surprising move, Chaudhries’ split deepens the mild and amiable chief of PMLQ, hit back at his younger brother Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain for accusing that Shujaat’s sons had sold their votes to the coalition government led by PMLN. Wajahat Hussain had alleged that Shujaat’s sons have sought dollars from PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari for supporting the government calling it a scar on family’s political stature lamenting that that their scions can stoop so low in electoral politics. Responding to his younger brother’s allegations, Shujaat Hussain termed such allegations as highly inappropriate adding that his sons could respond to the allegation but were staying silent. He maintained that his son had voted for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at Shujaat’s request and not for any monetary benefits. He added that as far as Wajahat’s assertion that if PMLQ does not end the alliance with PMLN by 30 June they will form a new party then he must note that hundreds of parties have already been formed in Pakistan and what difference would it make if another party is formed? Shujaat also dismissed allegations against MNA Tariq Bashir Cheema, held responsible for the divide in the family, and called them immoral and based on lies. TW
