On the one hand, the incumbent prime minister appears to be getting tough on the opposition and that is understood but side by side he is also getting tough on his colleagues who are left with no option but to patiently listen to his frequent tirades. He is apparently oblivious and bad tempered to the fact that they are not bureaucratic minions but senior political figures such as Ahsan Iqbal and Tariq Bashir Cheema and may not take such nonsense lying down. He is reportedly observed in a state of consistent agitation and extreme nervousness apparently bent upon proving that he is in charge.
The latest was the confusion he created when he refused to listen to his ministers leaving them red-faced despite them giving bad tempered and cogent reasons and postponing the launch of a dashboard built to monitor flood relief assistance. In the process, he rebuked them expressing visible frustration after finding inadequacies in a dashboard pointing out that it lacked real-time updates and was not of international standards, refused to inaugurate the event and remained seated as he outlined his primary objection with the dashboard saying that it was not being updated in real-time. He did not let the ministers explain and retorted that it should be trashed calling it a joke. The Weekender
