Aziz Memon elected ESU International president of the International Council of the English Speaking Union for the term 2022-2024. The English Speaking Union International has over 90 chapters in 54 Commonwealth countries and it is a leading institution working for public welfare. It is oriented to provide opportunity to the budding talent to come forward and show it in worthwhile surroundings.
Its Pakistani branch English Speaking Union (ESUP) is instrumental in garnering talent amongst youth through debating contests and encourages social moots that are held regularly. It also meets periodically providing a credible forum for prominent speakers to air their views on matters of general interest and invites its members to question the speakers.
The International Council Meeting (ICM) of ESU took place in Karachi in which around 40 international delegates from various countries took place joined in Karachi and over zoom. The elections were also held in one of its sessions in which Aziz Memon was elected. It was mentioned that Aziz Memon stands out for his passionate devotion to the cause of ESU Pakistan and his dedication has made the ESU International recognise his contribution to the cause of the institution.
Aziz Memon is a successful Pakistani entrepreneur and chairman of the Kings Group of Companies dealing in textile trade. He is also the honorary consul general of the Republic of Suriname and president of the United Memon Jamaat of Pakistan. His services to the social causes have been recognised by the government of Pakistan by conferring on him the award of the Pride of Performance. TW
