Ali Zaidi arrested

Ali Zaidi arrested – He is a front-line leader of the PTI and his arrest caused widespread jitters in the country as rational opinion felt extremely awkward to see the return the scourge of political victimisation into play again. Intriguingly the arrest took place in Karachi indicating that Sindh government is now considered a sure agency to carry out retributive measures as is evident by hosts of arrests and incarceration of political personnel taking place not only in Karachi but remote towns in the interior of the province. Moreover, strong arm tactics have also come into use as a video showed a man, thought to be Zaidi, being escorted into a white automobile by men in civvies surrounded by uniformed police personnel. In another video, officials can be seen pushing and dragging Zaidi by his arm. In a classic case of a private financial transaction gone wrong he was alleged to have not paid a due amount to the complainant. It was also alleged that he ‘faked’ the property papers of the surety. To make matters more spicy the complainant also maintained that Ali Zaidi arrested and had threatened him and has sought police protection for himself and his children. TW
